Summary

For her birthday, the little princess received a  bicycle. The little princess was very happy about it. Right after blowing out the candles on her birthday cake she wanted to get on her bike and ride away. Unfortunately that was not as simple as she thought. The bike did not really fit the little princess. The saddle was a little high, the handlebars were a little too far in front, and the pedals were so far away from her feet! On top of that, the bike had only two wheels, which was the most annoying of all. Three stories from the life of a little princess who sometimes does not behave like a princess at all. However, no matter if she frets about the way-too-big bicycle, or carries home a not really orphaned duckling or decides to fall in love with the shepherd boy and to run with him through the mud without shoes. She does everything with so much determination and passion that you just have to like her. And besides, she is ready to admit one mistake or another. Everyone is prone to making mistakes, aren‘t they? In her stories Saskia Hula shows with lots of humor, delicate irony and psychological intuition the contradictory but lovable behavior of children, and through her alienated view holds a mirror up to her readers.
